Once Agnidev was afflicted with many diseases, no remedy could provide relief, his eyes turned yellow due to the diseases. To get rid of the diseases, he started worshipping Mahadev. The gods also prayed that Agni is our mouth, through him we get food in the form of Havisyaan material put in the sacrificial fire. Please remove his disease and bless us all too. Due to the prayers of the gods and the penance of Agni, Lord Shiva in the form of from the Pingaleshwar destroyed all his diseases and said that by worshipping in the form of Pingaleshwar, all diseases and misery will be destroyed. If Lord Mahamrityunjaya, i.e. Shiva, who gives victory over death, also gives victory over diseases, then what is the surprise in it? Regularly doing Shiva’s Pingaleshwar Sadhana for a few days calms down diseases and brings health benefits. Diseases can be physical or mental; irritability, inferiority complex, guilt, lack of enthusiasm etc Even if there is no disease, and this Sadhana is completed, it provides a protective shield against diseases.
