Mahamrityunjaya Deeksha

To prevent sudden death, accidents and diseases According to mythological references, Daksha Prajapati got his 27 daughters married to Chandradev, but Chandra was only attracted to Rohini, due to which the other 26 were neglected. On this, Daksha cursed Chandra – ‘Go and perish!’ As a result, Sudhakar’s work of showering nectar stopped and there was panic among all living beings. After listening to the prayers of the moon, Brahmaji advised the moon to worship Lord Mrityunjay. After chanting the Mahamrityunjay mantra for six months and performing rigorous penance, Lord Mrityunjay appeared and granted immortality to the moon – and said, ‘Every day in the dark fortnight, one of your phases will diminish, but at the same time, in the same order, one of your phases will increase in the same order in the bright fortnight and on every full moon day, you will become the full moon.’ Thus, the nectar rays of nectar started flowing in the world again.

Lord Mahamrityunjay is that form of Shiva, by worshipping whom, the seeker can achieve complete victory over all diseases, sudden accidents, untimely death etc. This Sadhna has been seen to be successful in the treatment of incurable diseases.
